Ahh the dreaded (or delightful) start date of your new journey. I’m sure you’ve heard “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step” and it’s well known and used often because it’s true.

Speaking of a 1,000 mile journey, I could probably think of 1,000 reasons why procrastinating sounds good. It’s easier to blame the crappy food in the fridge on your spouse, it’s easier to cater to your kids when they want what “everyone else gets to have,” and it’s easier to eat what is put in front of you than to plan out what will be best for your body. I get it. That's one of the many reasons I created the Healthy Eating Challenge.

These are just your average, every day excuses, but over the holidays? We definitely like over indulging. Nobody wants to be the odd one out who’s “on a diet” during the holidays, throwing away treats from the neighbors like you're ungrateful or making treats without "taste testing."

I mean who wants to deprive themselves or deal with those eye rolls?

Trust me, I get the reasons for procrastination. I understand because I’ve been there.

I know what it feels like to want to stay in your comfort zone. The unknown can be scary especially when we feel like leaving our comfort zone will leave us feeling alone.

Why now? Why before the holidays?

First of all, if you can learn to eat healthy during the holidays, just think of how much easier it will be to eat healthy during every other time of the year! NOW is always the best time to start. Together, we're going to make healthy changes at a time when people think it's nearly impossible. Here, we do the impossible. We prove people wrong. Most importantly, we prove our own doubts wrong.

Right now, technology is better than ever. It connects us and lets us have a support system regardless of how close we are to each other. We can literally be across the world supporting each other.
